Better Than Friendster

I watched Digital Tour last night at Studio 23. D-tour. by the way, is the coolest tv program dedicated to cyber freaks like me. It is hosted by Iya and Manu (Agot Isidro's hubby) and other guest co-hosts. JC Gonzales used to be part of the show, but I guess they figured out he's better in hosting nature-tripping shows. Though the topics are really hi-tech in nature, they don't use highfalutin words that would alienate people who don't know anything digital. If your a religious viewer [like me], you would notice that every episode, they would explain what an i-Pod is. ;)

Last night, they featured another emerging friendship-promoting site. Everyone's Connected is a friendster-like site, only better! Aside from your usual profile, this site provides testimonials, embarrassing moment stories and guestbook features. Its cool settings and layout allow easy navigation and more picture uploads. I immediately fell in love with the site and invited some of my friends to register. Looks like I'll have a new addiction this summer. Hehehe....

Blog Sentiments

So what is it? Is it my stupid mouth again? It's a blog for Pete's sake! And a group blog at that! So, probably it's the way I wrote it.

I've been a member of arkiboks for a long time now. I never posted anything for months because I know I can be such a [stupid] blabber mouth. Just like back in college with the logbooks. Yes, arkiboks is just a cyber logbook. Then finally I decided to break my silence. I wanted them to know that I still exist. But I should've thought What do they care?!. Kuya Enrics was right, we're not all friends. Pero magkakakilala tayo, pwede ba?! If you know the real me, you would know I write the same way I talk. But I guess nobody really knows me... or they never really tried to.

I got tired of this game long long time ago. If I can't be appreciated, kebs! I'm just sad that this happened. I guess I'll just keep my thoughts to my blog. At least here I won't have to be careful of offending anybody... 'coz it's mine and it's the person's fault that he/she visited this site. hahahaha.... There are no expectations of making this blog world class quality or what not. And I won't have to change the way I write (or even what I want to write about) because some people don't know who I am.

Captain Backfire: Oh, I'm never speaking up again.... starting now.

Election Boo-Boos Part II

Ok, fine! Eddie Gil was disqualified by COMELEC yesterday. Sayang, laughter is the best medicine pa naman. And we know there are plenty of sick people in our country. But don't fret. Fernando Poe is still around. Hahaha.... Here are some of his interviews... It's like "duh!" raised to infinity!

Reply in a November 26 one-on-one interview with a television news
correspondent when confronted with the question on how he would address the country's
persistent problems (e.g., kidnapping, economic crisis/poverty), his
confident answer was simply: "common sense."

When asked for his reaction to the peso plunge, seemingly surprised by
the question, Poe said, "Bago 'yan ah, dahil wala pa kaming nilalatag na

Asked if he thought the slide in the value of the peso was being played up
by the administration to blame the political opposition, Poe replied,
"Nagkaroon lang ng chain reaction 'yan. 'Pag nagbago ang dollar sa ibang
lugar, may chain reaction 'yan."

When asked about what he thinks of the continuous depreciation of the peso:

Sabay ngiti at nagmamadaling umalis...

Reporter: "Sir, what is your birthday wish for Senator Loren Legarda?"
FPJ: " I wish her.............I am at a loss for words!"

Matututunan mo
din yan basta gustuhin mo

When asked by Max Soliven (Philippine Star) about the importance of
experience in government, FPJ replied: "Hindi karanasan, but kung anong
nararanasan"

His reason for not joining the presidential debate: "There have been to
many debates in this country. It's no longer time for talk, but for action."

When he was in booed in lubao, he was asked about his feelings towards the
reaction of the people....
MORE THAN TWENTY"

God bless the Filipino people!

Election Boo-Boo's

First in my laughable presidentiable list is.... drum roll, please.... Eddie Gil (standard-bearer of Isang Bansa Isang Diwa party)! To show how nakakatawa Eddie Gil is, here's an excerpt of his interview with Vicky Morales in Bio-Data (GMA7)

EG: Oo, gagawin nating Philippine dollar. Bakit
yung ibang bansa, dollar ang gamit. Ang Korea, may
Korean dollar.

Yahooooooooo!!!!! Mabuhay si Eddie Gil!!!!!

Health Buff (Kuno!)

I recently bought a red mountain bike for health reasons. And I call him "hangin", you know, as in wind. I got that from my answer when my sister asked, "What do you love about riding a bike?"... I said something like, "I love the feeling of wind on my face, sweat on my skin..."

Since I started teaching, gaining weight seems so uncontrolable. I somehow traced it from the following reasons:

- Food here is so cheap. I can actually buy a full meal (rice, meat viand, vegetable viand, fruit juice, and dessert) for only 30 PhP! And who am I not to take advantage of this incredible offer. ;)

- I don't have a social life. If I'm not making quizzes, lessons and academic stuff, I watch TV. If I watch TV, I always munch on something.

- I'm not involved in any sport that will somehow counteract my montrous appetite. I've tried aero before. It didn't work. Aside from it's no fun, I'm surrounded by old, nagmumurang kamatis people. Yes, gurang lang ang nage-aerobics ngayon.

- I'm surrounded by metabolically thin sisters. They eat more food than I do, but they don't get big. I always wonder where they store all those cholesterol and calories.

So there. My solution: Magpapa-hangin muna ako. Hehehe... Malay mo, I might be another success story. ;)

So What??

Back in high school, all I ever wanted was to prove to my grade school teachers that they made a wrong decision to take me out of the honor roll. You see, I attended only one school for grade school and high school, and a small school at that where everyone knows everybody. Proving myself worthy of honors would also prove that they played favorites, that I can also be like my sisters (who all had well-decorated chests come Recognition Day), and that I can be good when I want to. So I succeeded...

What I did not know, when you reach a pinnacle like that of grabbing valedictorian, people expect you to be up there forever. So what if I went to UP-Diliman and decided to go back and teach? So what if most of my friends who studied in Davao are now working in Manila and are more "successful" in their careers? So what if my salary's below P20,000? So what??! I know, some of my high school classmates smirk at hindsight and probably think, "Who's got the better education now?!" Well, tell you what.... I DON'T CARE!

But I somehow understand why they think that way. Probably they're thinking of consistency. If I cared so much of what others thought back in high school and strove for others' approval, why do I feel otherwise now? I don't owe them an explanation for that. If they want consistency, well, take this: I LIVE FOR MYSELF! I live for what I want. That was what I wanted then, and this is what I want now.

As what my good friend once said, "So what?"
